About Course
Practical Acupuncture Training
Acquire all necessary skills to apply Traditional Chinese Medicine treatments with acupuncture and moxibustion.
To access the practical acupuncture training, is required prior completion of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Course. Also you should be enrolled in Anatomy, Physiology and Allopathic Perspective to acces the Training and have completed anatomy and physiology to access the internships.

This practical acupuncture training campus corresponds to Block 3 of our professional acupuncture course. By completing all activities, including in-person clinical practice, you will have completed your 3,060-hour course and will receive your professional certificate endorsed by the International Institute of Complementary Therapists.

MODULE 1: CHINESE ACUPUNCTURE TREATMENTS AND TRAINING IN ASSESSMENT AND
DIAGNOSIS 500 hours
Clinical cases will be developed for each of the pathologies.
• Rheumatic pathologies: pain-related conditions, back disorders, torticollis, sciatica,
lumbalgia, tendinitis, frozen shoulder or scapulohumeral periarthritis, knee injuries, ankle and
foot injuries, sprains, temporomandibular disorders, Bi syndromes, fibromyalgia, chronic
fatigue syndrome.
• Respiratory pathologies: common cold and flu, cough, asthma, rhinitis, sinusitis, polyps,
throat disorders, hoarseness.
• Gastrointestinal pathologies: diarrhoea, constipation, nausea and vomiting,
gastralgia/epigastric pain, acid regurgitation/gastroesophageal reflux, irritable bowel
syndrome/gastrointestinal neurosis, difficulty swallowing, abdominal pain, hypochondriac
pain.
• Dermatological pathologies: urticaria, eczema, herpes zoster, psoriasis.
• Cardiovascular pathologies: palpitations, heart rhythm disorders, excessive sweating,
haemorrhoids.
• Auditory system pathologies: otitis, tinnitus, hearing loss.
• Nervous system pathologies: headache and migraine, dizziness and vertigo, heatstroke,
trigeminal neuralgia, tics, Parkinson’s disease, ADHD.
• Psychoemotional pathologies: insomnia, drowsiness, poor memory, neurosis, anxiety,
melancholy, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, classic syndromes.
• Genitourinary pathologies: edema, Lin syndrome, cystitis, urinary retention, urinary
incontinence, urinary stones.
• Endocrine pathologies: diabetes, goitre, hypo- and hyperthyroidism.
• Women’s pathologies: female physiology, shortened or early menstrual cycle, delayed cycle,
irregular menstruation, heavy menstruation, scanty menstruation, dysmenorrhoea,
amenorrhoea, uterine bleeding, premenstrual syndrome, excessive vaginal discharge
(leucorrhoea, infections, candida), uterine prolapse, abdominal masses (fibroids, polycystic
ovaries), vulvar itching and ulcers, menopausal symptoms.
• Pathologies during pregnancy: general considerations, nausea and vomiting, dizziness,
anxiety, sensation of oppression, cough, constipation, abdominal pain, risk of miscarriage,
poor fetal growth, urinary retention, oedema, painful urination, diabetes and cholestasis,
convulsions/eclampsia, breech presentation.
• Postpartum pathologies: lochia, postpartum pain, insufficient lactation, mastitis,
galactorrhoea, sweating, difficulty urinating, fever, constipation and haemorrhoids, joint pain,
postpartum depression.
MODULE 2: OTHER THERAPEUTIC SKILLS 60 hours
• Qigong and Tuina
MODULE 3: ACUPUNCTURE PRACTICE 252 hours
• Needle manipulation techniques
• Moxibustion techniques
• Point location
• Integration of Tuina and Qigong
• Safety and contraindications: sterilisation, injury prevention, contraindications (for example,
pregnancy) and management of adverse reactions.
• Clinic management: follow-up and support throughout the healing process. Client/patient
management: legal regulations, patient communication, informed consent, record keeping
and professional development. Includes training in patient intake, case history, pulse and
tongue diagnosis and treatment planning.
MODULE 4: CLINICAL PRACTICE 1,008 hours
Supervised clinical practice: diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of 24 patients over 12 sessions each.
