About Course
The Traditional Chinese medicine course will allow you to learn the theory of traditional Chinese medicine.
This course can be taken independently. Besides, this campus corresponds to Block 1 of our Professional Acupuncture Course. Successful completion of this Block together with the Block 2 Anatomy, physiology and allopathic perspective grants you access to the Block 3 Acupuncture training, with the possibility of obtaining your professional certificate internationally endorsed by the International Institute of Complementary Therapists.

MODULE 1. BASICS OF CHINESE MEDICINE

- History of Chinese Medicine. Introduction to classical thought: Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism. Evolution of acupuncture practice.
- Qi. Yin/Yang. The theory of the 5 Movements.
- Vital substances.
- The Three Treasures.
- Introduction to Energetic Physiology
- Therapeutic principles
MODULE 2. THEORY OF THE INTERNAL ORGANS
78 Hours
- The Zang-Fu and emotions
- Water Phase: Kidney and Bladder
- Wood Phase: Liver and Gallbladder
- Fire Phase: Heart, Small Intestine, Pericardium, Triple Burner
- Metal Phase: Lung and Large Intestine
- Curious organs: Uterus, Brain, Marrow, Bones, Blood Vessels, and Gallbladder
MODULE 3. THEORY OF THE CHANNELS
182 Hours
- Theory of the channels (Jing Luo): primary, extraordinary, luo, divergent, and sinew channels. Pathways, pathology, and symptoms
- Types of points and their use in meridian treatment
- Location, characteristics, and indications of acupuncture points
- Cutaneous zones: location, pathology, and treatment
MODULE 4. INTERNAL PATHOPHYSIOLOGY AND DIAGNOSIS

- Etiology. External and internal pathogenic factors
- Syndrome identification methodologies
- The Eight Principles (Ba Gang)
- Qi, Blood, and Body Fluids
- Pathogenic factors
- Relationships among the Five Elements
- The Six Stages (Shang Han Lun)
- The Four Levels (Wen Bing)
- San Jiao
- Syndromes of the internal organs: pathology and treatment
- Diagnostic methods: case history, pulse, tongue, and observation
- Clinical cases
MODULE 5. PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
50 hours
Throughout the entire course, meditation and breathing practices will be carried out to help usconnect more deeply with ourselves and improve our ability to perceive the energetic meridians.
The traditional chinese medicine course gives you all the theoretical knowledge needed before starting to learn any treatment technique based on Traditional Chinese Medicine.
